One man dead, another injured in Somersworth apartment house shooting

SOMERSWORTH - State and Somersworth Police continue their investigation today into the fatal shooting of a man on High Street on Monday.

Police say a deceased adult male was found suffering from gunshot wounds outside an apartment building at 97 High St. as well as a second adult male who was found injured from what appear to be non-fatal, non-gunshot wounds inside a common hallway.

An investigation revealed that several witnesses may have seen or heard an argument between the two men moments before the shooting, but left the area without speaking with responding officers, according to a press release sent out on Monday.

At this time, the parties directly involved in the incident have been identified, and there is no known threat to the general public, police say.

The identity of the deceased male will not be released until next of kin have been notified, and an autopsy is anticipated to take place today.
