ROCHESTER - One person was injured and another cited on Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash that police say was caused when a driver failed to stop for a stop sign on Old Dover Road.

The chain-reaction crash occurred in the area of Old Dover and Tebbetts roads around 4:55 p.m. when police say James Brennan, 63, of Concord, was driving a Jeep Cherokee west on Tebbetts Road when he struck a Ford Explorer driven by Brenda Gale, 59, of Dover, as it headed north on Old Dover Road.

Brennan's vehicle then struck a Silver Subaru Forester driven by Allen Mercier, 46, of Somersworth, who had stopped at the stop sign at Tebbetts Road and Old Dover Road facing east.

A passenger in the Explorer, Fallon Gale, was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

Brennan was issued a summons for a stop sign violation-level offense.

If anyone has any information about this accident or investigation they are asked to contact Officer Thomas Butcher at 330-7128.
