One dead, two othes injured in head-on crash involving SUV, truck

FARMINGTON - One motorist is dead and two others injured in a head-on crash on Route 11 on Tuesday.
The collision occurred around 1:30 p.m. about 500 feet west of Tappan Lane where police say an SUV crashed into a commercial medium duty truck head-on.
The 29-year-old driver of the SUV died at the scene, while their 55-year-old passenger was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver, 37, sustained what were described as nonlife threatening injuries, while their passenger, 35, was unhurt.
Neither the name of the deceased nor the others involved in the crash have been released.
The collision remains under investigation by Farmington Police, the county's accident reconstruction team and state police.
