Oh what a run it has been!

New England Patriots fans have been waking up happy on Monday mornings for a helluva long time. It has been a remarkable run, and it’s not over yet.

Yesterday it was LeGarrette Blount’s 6-foot, 250-pound frame rumbling across a soggy Gillette Stadium field and through a porous Buffalo Bills defense that provided the bulk of the entertainment.

But during the 13 years Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have been at the helm, there has been entertainment value coming out of Foxborough, Mass., the likes of which is rare to find, especially so consistently for more than a decade.

Sure they got their three Super Bowl wins in four years, but they’ve been division champs 10 of the last 11. They went to the Super Bowl twice in the past few years, losing both times to the hated Giants. They missed the playoffs only three times in 13 years, only twice in the Brady/Belichick era.

The Patriots winning 14 games a year is like getting minimum wage. You expect that at the very least.

Since Brady,Belichick and owner Bob Kraft hooked up, the Patriots have been beaten a few times, but for my money they’re the greatest football franchise dynasty ever.

Yes, the Steelers won four Super Bowls during the Steel Curtain years and were great (the immaculate reception and all that jazz), but the longevity is not there.

Same with the Boys and the Niners. Da Bears in da ‘40s, Dolphins in the 70s. Forget about it.

Sure, the pundits don’t like the Pats. For instance, most thought they’d lose to the Ravens last week. Result? The Ravens and the pundits both laid another egg.

Here are a few other tidbits culled after yesterday’s game, courtesy of the Boston Herald sports team.

Brady has the best record in the final four games of the regular season since the 1970 merger.

With Baltimore losing on Sunday and being eliminated from the postseason, the Patriots streak of five straight postseason berths is the longest active streak in the NFL.

The list of superlatives goes on and on. Let’s hope the Pats can, too.
