FARMINGTON - Ryan D. Canney, 20, of Farmington, passed away at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a motorcycle accident. 

A former resident of Acton, Maine, he graduated from Sanford High School in June 2012. A kind, generous, compassionate, young man who often put other's needs ahead of himself, he spent the last day of his life helping his cousin move, and picking apples for his Nana.

NASCAR, hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his brother, friends and family were his favorite things to do.

He is survived by his parents Lawrence and Kelly (Leighton) Canney, his best friend and brother, Nicholas Canney; his Nana, Mildred Leighton, all from Farmington; his grandfather, Mervalle (Sonny) Canney, from Rochester, N.H., and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his friend and mentor, Brian Mucciaccio, from North Attleboro, Mass. He was predeceased by his Papa, Herbert Leighton.

ARRANGEMENTS

A celebration of his life will be held at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central St. in Farmington, N.H., on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon, Maine.
