Nute's woodworking program gets huge boost from N.H. Woodworkers Guild

MILTON - Nute Middle High School students will be working with brand new cutting edge woodworking equipment today after the Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers donated some $5,500 worth of equipment.

Dave Foote, president of the Guild, was among those who delivered the equipment on Tuesday.

The new equipment includes three Rikon VSR mini lathes, turning tools, a sharpening system, and miscellaneous safety equipment.

Foote worked with Ben Carleton, Nute's woodworking teacher, as part of the Guild Grant Program.

The Guild's goal in the donation is the furthering woodworking in the state through the sharing of knowledge, skills, and experience among its members and the general public. As part of its mission, the Guild provides grants to institutions, organizations, and schools to assist them in the advancement of the art of woodworking.

Nute Middle High School Principal Jan Radowicz said she and the school were hugely appreciative of the Guild's generosity.
