ROCHESTER - The City of Rochester released its 2024 total compensation on Feb. 13, with two employees making in overtime what many in the private sector make during an entire year.
Katie Ambrose earned $179.000 during her first full year as city manager, followed by Rochester Police Chief Gary Boudreau with $149,000 and Fire Chief Dennis Dube with $140,000.
The two city employees with some of the highest OT wages comprised a Rochester Police Sergeant and a Fire Department Lieutenant with $48,000 in overtime pay apiece.
Some of the other top earners are Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Kimberly Conley at $145,000, DPW Director Peter Nourse at $152,000 and Finance Director Mark Sullivan at $133,000.
Others from the city taking home a comfortable paycheck include City Attorney Terence O'Rourke at $134,000 and department heads like welfare chief Todd Marsh at $105,000, Director of Building and Licensing Services Jim Grant at $109,000, Economic Development Director Mike Scala at $108,00, rec director Laura Krans at $106,000 and Library Director Marie Lejeune at $104,000.
Meanwhile, City Council members get around $1,500 a year, while Mayor Paul Callaghan gets about $3,000.
In all, including full and part-time employees, elected officials, per diems and others the city compensated some 300 individuals over the year.
