MERRIMACK - A Nashua man was seriously injured on Saturday when his vehicle crashed on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack.

State Troopers and rescue crews responded to the crash around 9 p.m. in the area of mile marker 14.2.

Upon arrival they found a 2013 Nissan GTR heavily damaged and on fire.

Farooq Aziz, 39 was pulled from the wreckage with the help of Good Samaritans.

Aziz was initially transported to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, before being flown to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston by Boston MedFlight for serious injuries.

The F.E. Everett Turnpike was reduced to one lane in the area of the crash for around two hours.

Speed appears to be a factor in the crash; however, all aspects remain under investigation, according to a Dept. of Safety press release sent today.

State Police are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the incident, passed through the scene with a dash cam, or witnessed any driving behaviors prior to the crash to contact Trooper Jonathan Janosz
