ROCHESTER - Nancy Lee Hanley, 59, of Rochester, received her wings on Saturday, July 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Our Nonny as she is affectionately known, was born on July 11, 1957, in Providence, R.I., to Roland and Dawne Barratt. Nonny was raised in Providence and Warwick, R.I. and received her GED from Dover Adult Education, in Dover N.H. as a young adult, a proud moment for her.
One of her happiest moments was learning that she was going to be a Mommy. As a child she was always Mommy's little helper and truly played the role of Mommy when at the age of nine her little brother was born and her Mom needed immediate surgery. A nurturer at heart she was always coming up with new recipes that we were all blessed to be fed by.
Nonny was the most upbeat, positive person. She was always trying to make the best of a bad situation. Family meant everything to her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nonny is survived by her children, Ryan Welch (Kristina Kelly), Kristen Moulton (Kevin), Ben Hanley and Brandon Hanley; her godchildren, Karen Marshall and Wade Lincourt; her boyfriend Rene Rainville; her siblings, Roland Barratt (Leona), Steven Barratt, Dennis Barratt (Julie), Bernadette Lincourt (Harvey), Lisa Gilbert and Leonard Barratt; her previous spouses, Craig (Skinner) Watkins and Albert Welch; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who were always checking in on her, and many many friends that have kept up with her situation to help if needed.
Nonny was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Sharon, her sister in love, Krystn and her late husband Thomas Hanley.
