SKOWHEGAN, Maine - The murder trial of a Palmyra man accused of killing a former Rochester, N.H., man last summer was postponed to September, according to a recent release from the Attorney General’s Office.
The trial of Jason Cote, accused of bludgeoning to death 47-year old Ricky Cole on July 17, was scheduled to begin a month ago but was postponed because the defense team is said to be preparing to seek new expert testimony.
Cote, 22, remains at the Somerset County Jail in Madison.

Cole died of blunt-force trauma to the head and neck in the incident, which according to affidavits, happened when Cote went to Cole’s Detroit trailer to get drugs, and the two got into an altercation.
If convicted, Cote faces at least 25 years and up to life behind bars.
