BANGOR, Maine - A Massachusetts man was seriously hurt today in a crash on Interstate 95 in Bangor.

The accident occurred in the area of mile-marker 181, where upon arrival Troopers found several motorists rendering aid to the male driver of a vehicle who had been ejected and was lying on the roadway. The driver, Kenneth Cartledge, 25, who was conscious, was first treated by Bangor Fire and EMS then transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

The initial investigation indicates that Cartledge was traveling southbound when he lost control of his 2002 Ford F-250 pickup before crossing the center median and entering the northbound lane of travel. After entering the northbound lane, Cartledge's vehicle overturned, and he was ejected. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to police.

Initial findings indicate Cartledge was driving too fast for road conditions, according to safety officials.
