LEBANON - Lebanon residents Chip Halow and Robie Marsters were first out of the gate on Monday as they took out filing papers to run as candidates in an upcoming election to fill the selectman’s seat vacated by Jason Cole whose resignation took effect at the end of the year.
Harlow and Marsters are both frequent attendees at selectmen’s meetings and have also both run for the position before.
Marsters lost two years ago to Jason Cole and last year to newcomer Ben Thompson.
Harlow ran and lost several years ago to former selectman Robert Frizzell.
Marsters was instrumental in beginning an effort to bring forward a petition that would allow for the recall of elected officials seen as unfit by a majority of town voters, while Harlow has been active in an effort to videotape town meetings and has actually filmed some, himself.
Both were critical of the Rescue Department’s former leadership including former chief Samantha Cole and her husband, former selectman and former assistant chief, Jason Cole.
