ROCHESTER - Marsha L. Neal, 75, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, while in hospice at Wentworth Douglass Hospital, following a brief period of failing health.
Born May 24, 1949, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Howard and Beverly (Smith) Stanikmas.
Marsha had worked as a secretary for many years in several fields including at WPI in Worcester and several schools in England, where she had moved to after meeting her husband, Andrew.
After they returned to the US they settled in Rochester.
She kept up her secretarial skills working for many years for a local driving school, but her true love became making jewelry. She enjoyed showing and selling at various craft fairs in the area over the years and made quite a few friends.
At home when not making jewelry she enjoyed listening to music, especially her favorite band the Moody Blues, but if she does have a tune she will be remembered by it is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, flower arranging for the home, and collecting Pfaltzgraff pottery. Somehow, she found time to ensure the house was decorated in different seasonal themes throughout the year.
Members of her family include her husband Andrew Neal of Rochester, cousin BettyMae Smith of Hartford, Conn, daughter Andria Pawlina and her daughter Emily of Connecticut, brother and sister Peter and Wendy of Ohio, sisters-in-law Sarah and Becca, their husbands Bob and Jon, nephews Tom, Chad and Ollie and their wives/partner Kate, Emma and Grace, and definitely not forgetting the "greats" Argo, Delilah and bump "Svetlana."
