DOVER - Marlene (Hamilton) Smith, 93, died peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in Dover.

A lifelong resident of Dover, born Dec. 11, 1931, daughter of Emma (Rickert) and Raymond Hamilton.

Marlene graduated from Dover High School in 1950.

She was employed at Miller and Rochester Shoe. After retirement, she became a CNA at Langdon Place in Dover.

Marlene is predeceased by her husband, Charles R. Smith, Sr; and son, Richard Smith, sister, Joyce Newton of Dover and brother, William Hartford of Dover

Surviving family members include her son, Charles R. Smith, Jr. and wife, Susan, of Gilmanton Iron Works; grandchildren, Stacey Schlender, Jodie Smith and Lindsay Smith; Richard Smith's daughter, Christine Smith and her children.
