Maris J. (Richardson) Citron, 83, a resident of Rochester, died after a brief illness on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at Frisbee Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Gladys Florence Chisholm and Alfred Llyod (Richie) Richardson, she was born in Haverhill, Mass., and attended Haverhill High School. She had been a resident of Rochester since 1995, having moved from North Andover, Mass.
For many years, Maris worked as a private art teacher and love of art was her passion. She won several awards at various fairs across New England for pieces she created. She was a lover of all animals, and her home typically included both cats and a dog. Maris was an avid reader and liked to watch sports, following her favorite team the Boston Celtics.
The widow of Ted E. Citron to whom she was married for 51 years, Maris is survived by her daughters, Deirdre Corrigan and her spouse Kevin, Elizabeth Dias and her spouse Glen and son, Gary Citron. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael Dias, Christopher Dias, James Jepson, Tyler Corrigan, Daniel Dias, Matthew Dias, Stephanie Corrigan, and Joshua Citron as well as several nieces and nephews.
