BEDFORD - The driver killed in a Thursday crash on Interstate 293 has been identified as a Manchester woman.
Kayla Ramirez, 27, died when her vehicle crashed around 12:45 a.m. Troopers say her Chevrolet Malibu drifted off the roadway to the left where the front end of the vehicle hit a guardrail end cap.
The preliminary investigation indicated that upon striking the guardrail, the vehicle went into a spin where it continued down the highway for a short distance. Ramirez, who was not seat belted, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger, Shaylynn Price, 19, of Pittsfield, who was said to be wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital.
All aspects of the crash remain under investigation. State Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash, or has further information regarding the crash, to contact Trooper Edward Perciballi at Edward.M.Perciballi@dos.nh.gov or State Police dispatch at (603) 223-4381.
