MANCHESTER - Speed is being blamed in a Friday night rollover on Interstate 293 that left a teenager seriously injured.
Police say Shane A. Lugo, 18, was headed south on the ramp from I-293 South toward I-93 North in a Toyota Camry when his vehicle veered off the roadway into woods and rolled over, according to a state Dept. of Safety statement released on Sunday.
Upon arrival, Troopers located the vehicle on its roof in woods off the right side of the roadway. Lugo sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Troopers at the scene were assisted by members of the Manchester Fire Department as the right lane in the area of this crash was closed for about an hour during.
Police say excessive speed appears to be the primary contributing factor in this crash, however, all aspects of the accident are being investigated.
