WARNER - An Enfield man was arrested earlier today after leading State Police on a chase that began in Manchester, continued through several other towns and didn't end till the subject turned his lights off to evade police and failed to negotiate a curve rolling his vehicle.
The incident unfolded around 1:10 a.m. when troopers tried to stop the driver of a Ford Focus for speeding and registration violations on Interstate 93 northbound in the city of Manchester.
The operator failed to stop and continued to flee through several towns including Hooksett, Bow, Concord, Hopkinton and Warner. Twice during the pursuit, the operator drove head-on toward troopers, almost causing a collision, police said in a statement sent out today.
The pursuit ended on Route 127 in the town of Warner when the operator turned off the vehicle's lights and failed to negotiate a curve at a high rate of speed causing the vehicle to rollover and came to rest in the middle of the roadway.
The operator, Ryan Sharkey, 40, of Enfield, was transported to Concord Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He was charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying a police officer, aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated 2nd offense, operating after suspension offense, misuse of plates and unregistered motor vehicle.
