ROCHESTER - Rochester Police today continue to investigate a Friday shooting that occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Walnut Street.
The shooting was in the area of Winkley Farm Lane and may have been the result of a road rage incident in which an adult male was wounded and treated for a nonlife threatening injury.
The incident is said to have involved a male and female who were traveling south on Walnut Street in a blue sedan when the vehicle began tailgating them.
Police say it appears both vehicles then stopped in the roadway where a confrontation took place, resulting in the male from the blue sedan being shot in the arm by someone in the other vehicle, which is described as a silver/gray coupe, similar to a Chevy Cobalt, with a broken window.
According to notes on Friday's police log, Frisbie Memorial Hospital notified police around 8 p.m. that they were treating a male for a nonlife threatening gunshot wound. Police subsequently put out a BOLO (be on the lookout for) on a silver or gray Chevrolet Cobalt two-door coupe with a smashed back driver's side window.
