LEBANON - The Lebanon man seriously injured in a motorcycle accident earlier this week is showing signs of improvement today after four day in critical condition in a Maine Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.

Ann Hemenway, the fiancée of injured motorcyclist Dennis Labrecque, announced he is "finally coherent today" shortly before noon on The Lebanon Voice Facebook page.

Labrecque was riding his Harley Davidson Fat Boy westbound on Route 202 in the area of Bigelow Road around noon on Monday when he was unable to stop for holiday weekend traffic that had backed up in front of him, clipped the rear end of a vehicle and was thrown about 30 feet into the woods, Maine State Police Trooper James McDonald said on Wednesday.

Hemenway said her fiancée has been in critical condition since the accident and subsequent Medflighting to Maine Med.

A media liaison at the hospital has consistently listed Labrecque in fair condition since Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a fund has been set up by family members to help with hospital bills and expenses during what could be a very long recovery. To donate to the fund click here.
