ROCHESTER - A Rochester man found guilty of riot and assault at a Dover McDonald's drive-thru last year was arrested on Monday after getting into an altercation with a pedestrian on Pine Street.
The incident occurred a little before 9 p.m. when police say Robert Gorham, 34, of 899 Salmon Falls Road, was driving on Pine Street when he had words with a pedestrian who thought Gorham had driven his vehicle too close.
It is alleged that Gorham then turned his car around and came back up Pine Street where it is a one-way street and assaulted the pedestrian.
When police arrived they found that Gorham was impaired and had an uninspected vehicle. Gorham was charged with simple assault with bodily injury and DUI. He also received summonses for uninspected vehicle and driving on a one-way street.
Last month a jury found Gorham guilty of riot and attempted simple assault in a March 2018 incident at the Dover McDonald's drive thru on Central Avenue.
Gorham could face a maximum of eight years behind bars in the incident when he is sentenced later this summer.
Two others from Rochester charged in the attack at McDonald's, Champion J. Sprague, 25, of 18 Stillwater Circle; and Megan L. O'Neill, 27, of Spruce Street, pleaded guilty to all charges earlier this spring and were given suspended sentences.
According to both the defense and prosecution the violence erupted after one of the cars was thought to have cut off the other while both parties were waiting for their orders at the Central Avenue McDonald's just before midnight on March 10, 2018.
Gorham was expected to be arraigned on the new charges today.
