DOVER - A Portsmouth man is facing multiple charges after he tried to obtain a non-driver identification card using fraudulent documents.
On Wednesday members of the Troop G Investigations Unit arrested Fernando De Souza Coimbra, 29, of Portsmouth, after investigators received information that Coimbra was attempting to submit fraudulent documents to the Dover branch of the DMV for the purpose of obtaining a New Hampshire non-driver identification card.
Coimbra was taken into custody without incident and charged with unsworn falsification and tampering with public records or information, according to a Thursday press release from NHSP. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Dover District Court on Oct. 8. No booking photo has been released yet.
