ROCHESTER - A Rochester man miraculously escaped injury when he was shot in the head by a man who allegedly discharged his firearm from across the street on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Corey Steven Field, 25, of 16 Leonard St. was charged with reckless conduct placing another in danger, and a bench warrant on an unrelated case of driving after suspension or revocation.

Field is alleged to have discharged “the firearm in his bedroom causing it to travel through his bedroom wall across the street into the home of the victim,” according to a Rochester Police press release on Tuesday night.
Police got the call around 7:45 p.m. for a bullet going through a house at 15 Leonard St., and “after speaking with the victims at the home it was discovered that a bullet traveled from the front yard area, through a closed window, through two bedroom walls and struck the 20 year old victim in the forehead,” the report concluded.
The victim was not injured.
Police early today had no information on what type of gun it was, but theorized that going through so many walls and windows weakened the bullet’s force.

According to a Google map, the two homes are about 80 feet apart in an area of multiunit dwellings.
No arraignment date was available this morning.
The reckless conduct charge is a Class A felony.
