VASSALBORO, Maine - Sgt. Keith MacKenzie of the Rochester Police Department and his bloodhound "Daisy May" were among those honored by the Maine Department of Safety during a ceremony at the state's Criminal Justice Academy on Friday.
MacKenzie and Daisy Mae were awarded a Meritorious Service Award for their help in tracking down a man wanted for killing his girlfriend in St. Francis last year.
The K-9 team ended a six-day manhunt.
MacKenzie was honored earlier this year by a New Hampshire first-responders foundation who named him the 2015 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.
Daisy Mae is owned by the Strafford County Sheriff's Department.
