CONCORD - A Littleton man was sentenced Tuesday in federal court for trafficking methamphetamine in New Hampshire.

Eric Briggs Jr., 33 was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Steven J. McAuliffe to 42 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release. Briggs pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances on June 20.

"Federal law enforcement's partnership with the Littleton Police Department on this case sends a strong message that there will be consequences for trafficking drugs to the North Country," said U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young. "This office will continue to aggressively prosecute those trafficking dangerous drugs in all corners of the Granite State."

On April 1, 2021, law enforcement conducted a motor vehicle stop of Briggs while he was driving in Carol. A search of his vehicle netted 43 grams, or 1.5 ounces, of methamphetamine, which Briggs admitted he possessed.
