LIMERICK, Maine - The York County Sheriff's Office investigated what was described as a possible "ISIS"-themed Christmas display after Limerick-area residents complained about it on Saturday.
Callers to both media outlets and the YCSO were concerned that the home might be owned by ISIS sympathizers.
When deputies arrived at the home, however, they were shown by the homeowner that in the display a Santa Clause figure on the roof can be seen "relieving' himself on the lighted display that reads ISIS.
The homeowner said he planned to rearrange the display to leave no doubt of his intentions.
Sheriff Bill King stressed no law was broken and deputies did not tell the owner to take the lights down or to reconfigure anything. He just wanted to clear up any confusion or concerns in the wake of calls to the media and his office.
