Limerick man dies in head-on collision in N. Waterboro

WATERBORO, Maine - A Limerick man was killed in a head-on crash Friday morning in North Waterboro.

The collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the area of 1068 Sokokis Trail where a preliminary investigation and witness reports revealed that Joshua Gochie, 36, of Limerick, was headed southbound when he crossed the center line and struck a 2013 GMC pickup truck driven by Alex Martin, 28, of Limerick, according to a press release sent from the York County Sheriff's Office. Martin was traveling northbound towing a trailer with an antique tractor on board.

Gochie was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Martin was transported to Southern Maine Healthcare-Biddeford with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

Maine State Police are conducting the crash reconstruction, while the York County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation.
