ALFRED - Maine State Trooper John Darcy is the newest trooper to begin patrolling Lebanon as part of his regular beat.
Darcy, 24, who grew up in Thompson Conn., joined the force a few years ago and spent some two and a half years up in The County before transferring to Troop A in Alfred.
He said he made the switch because he "likes Southern Maine" and he liked being a little closer to his family in the Nutmeg State.
In his brief stint with Maine State Police Darcy has already distinguished himself, having earned a Bravery Award for ending an armed standoff with a man in February 2015 in Smyrna.
He said he like covering Lebanon, because, "It's fast-paced."
