Lebanon's Community Festival set for Saturday

LEBANON - Saturday’s forecast is for lots of clouds, but if history stays true to form, it’ll turn out sunny like it always does for Lebanon’s Community Festival.

More than 1,000 people turned out last year for the town’s annual party, held at the Hanson School on Upper Guinea Road.

A bounce house with an enclosed slide and a “Maine-iac Challenge Obstacle Course” have been added to this year’s attractions that children will enjoy along with the Fire and Rescue vehicles that will be on display.

Like last year there will also be a demonstration from Mad Science of Maine.

There will also be plenty of barbecue and other goodies to enjoy as well as raffles and many other activities.

In years past there has been a Jaws of Life Demonstration and a LifeFlight helicopter visit, weather permitting.

As with last year’s festival, proceeds from Saturday’s town party will continue the funding of a scholarship in the name of Jeffrey Lee Bull, a former Lebanon Police officer who died in the line of duty 26 years ago.
