GONIC - A Lebanon man was injured on Tuesday when police say he had to lay down his bike after another motorist pulled out in front of him on Route 125.

The accident occurred around 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of Church Street and Route 125 in Gonic when police say David Long, 26 of Rochester, pulled out onto the highway from Church Street to turn left in his 2006 Suzuki Forenza and went directly into the path of a northbound 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle ridden by Timothy Rodden, 27, of Lebanon, Maine.

Rodden was forced into an emergency braking situation, and his motorcycle skidded into the side of the Subaru, resulting in severe damage to both vehicles.

Rodden, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, David Long was issued a summons for failure to yield.
