LEBANON - A Lebanon man has been indicted in the assault of his pregnant girlfriend in October.

Christopher G. Morin, 23, of 139 New Bridge Road, was drunk when he punched his pregnant girlfriend and threatened her with a gun back on Oct. 7, according to Maine State Police Trooper David Coflesky.

Morin has been charged with four felonies in connection with the case, including, aggravated assault, domestic violence assault, criminal threatening and criminal mischief.

Coflesky said the incident began when an intoxicated Morin beat up his girlfriend in his home on Oct. 7. Soon after, she hid his car keys and left in her car, Coflesky said. The girlfriend then went to her father’s house in Rochester and was pursued by Morin, who was now on his 1997 Suzuki GSF motorcycle.

When she got to her father’s house she hid in her car when Morin approached, Coflesky said. When Morin punched the car she was in, she sped off toward the Rochester Police station. Morin followed her, but thought she was going somewhere else, Coflesky said.

Several minutes later Morin dumped his bike on the Exit 11 Spaulding off ramp, leaving him with a head injury which resulted in him being Medflighted to Maine Medical Center for treatment.

When Morin recovered and was released from the hospital he was charged in the incident.

The indictment was handed down last week by a York County Grand Jury.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has deemed sufficient evidence to move forward to trial.
