Lebanon man arrested for allegedly threatening wife, family with machete

LEBANON, Maine - A Lebanon man was arrested on Saturday in a domestic dispute that included alleged threats with a machete.

The incident unfolded around 7:50 p.m. as police received a call from the wife of Maxime Sainteloi, who said her husband "was armed with a bladed weapon and was threatening his family," according to a press release from Maine Dept. of Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.

Maine State Police Troopers were dispatched to 34 Wiswell Lane in Lebanon, but found Sainteloi, 41, had left the residence.

State trooper caught up with Sainteloi around 9:20 p.m. at the Cumberland Farms at 28 Levesque Drive in Elliot, where he was arrested.

He was charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and transported to the York County Jail, where he is currently held on no bail.

Sainteloi will be arraigned today in Springvale District Court.
