Lebanon CEO moving on to new new job in public sector

LEBANON - Lebanon's Code Enforcement Officer said on Tuesday that his resignation announced Monday on the heels of a contentious Appeals Board meeting had nothing to do with the meeting, only a better job offer.

Lebanon CEO Mike Beaulieu's resignation was unveiled by Selectmen Chair Chip Harlow moments after the meeting ended. Beaulieu is expected to work another two weeks before he begins a new job.

Beaulieu declined to tell The Rochester Voice what the new job was, but did say it was in the public sector.

Beaulieu, a current selectman with the town of Milton, was hired in June 2015 as Lebanon CEO. On Tuesday he said he had enjoyed his time in Lebanon.

"I enjoyed my years there. Lebanon's a nice town to work for," he said.

Beaulieu won a second three-year term as Milton selectman in 2016.

Harlow said the town would immediately begin a search for a new CEO.
