Law enforcement seeking to corral yearlong 'armed and dangerous' fugitive

A yearlong fugitive from justice with ties to the Rochester and Dover area is being actively sought by the state Department of Corrections.
William B, Powers was sentenced in October 2022 to one and half to three years in state prison following a conviction of 2nd Degree Assault.
His sentence was suspended, and he was placed on supervised probation for two years, but has failed to report to parole and probation officers since last July.
According to corrections officials, Powers has a history of resisting arrest and assaulting law enforcement. In addition, he has been convicted of Simple Assault, Aggravated DWI, Possession of Controlled Drugs, Falsifying Physical Evidence and Criminal Mischief. Powers is considered armed and dangerous and has violent tendencies, according to a press release sent out today.
