Laconia woman charged with kicking officer during DUI arrest

NORTHFIELD - A Laconia woman was arrested for DUI and assaulting an officer after an early morning traffic stop on Saturday.

State Police got involved after a trooper spotted a vehicle traveling traveliing through the Canterbury restt area with not lights on around 2:10 a.m. the trooper than watched as the vehicle came to a stop in the travel lane on the on-ramp returning to the highway.

After stopping the vehicle, the trooper identified the operator as Vanessa L. Hall, 39, of Laconia.

Following a brief roadside investigation, Hall was arrested for driving under the influence. During the arrest, Hall resisted and kicked the trooper in the hand.

Hall was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections in Boscawen, where she was bailed and released on her own personal recognizance. She ended up being charged with driving under the influence, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, lights required, and stopping, standing prohibited. Hall is scheduled to appear in the Franklin District Court on April 10.
