ROCHESTER - Kimberly Lucier died in much the same way as she lived as a homeless person for the past seven years. Alone.
She died on Monday, three days after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Milton Road near Hannaford.
Police say Lucier was walking north on Milton Road when she was struck by a vehicle headed north around 10:20 p.m.
When police responded to the scene they found Lucier with a head injury beside the northbound side of Milton Road.
Frisbie Memorial Hospital EMS transported the female to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she later died.

During an hourlong interview with The Rochester Voice in January 2022, she said she has for the most part embraced the homeless lifestyle, but "as a loner."
"I like to live alone; I don't like to be around drugs or people," she quipped smiling.
During the interview she spoke fondly of her childhood growing up in California and often camping on the Mad River.
"I've always loved to camp," she said.
Lucier said she began living on the streets about seven years ago after a family squabble.
At the time of the interview, Lucier, who is legally blind, said she was contemplating moving back to California after one of her daughters who lives in San Bernardino told her she was preparing a room for her to live in.
"I have enjoyed it (the homeless experience), but I'm getting on now ... I think I'll probably be leaving New Hampshire soon," she told The Voice.

Lucy DiGiovanni, who is on the Infinity Peer Support board and was formerly homeless, said today that "Kimmy," as Lucier was known, was a "real nice person."

"I just saw her last week," she said.

Police continue their investigation to try to identify a suspect or person of interest in the hit-and-run.
Damage to the suspect vehicle is expected to be mostly on the front passenger side, with potential damage to the hood and windshield, police say.
Anyone who may have information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact the Rochester Police Department at 330-7128. Tipsters can also provide information and remain anonymous by calling the Rochester Crime Line at 335-6500 or Text to: CRIMES (274637) Body of Text: TEXT4CASH + your tip.
