ROCHESTER - The Relay For Life of Rochester will be hosting a kickoff party at 6 p.m. on Feb. 13 for the 2020 Relay For Life event.
Held at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital Conference Center, the kickoff event is open to the anyone interested in joining or learning more about Relay For Life. There will be representatives from the American Cancer Society, their advocacy affiliate, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and participants from prior Relay events on hand to answer questions.
All are welcome to join the party. Anyone who has relayed with the Rochester group before is invited to dress in their favorite theme clothes from the past 20 years: comics, Disney, Dr. Seuss, circus, country/western and more. This year's theme is a 20th Birthday Bash.
Relay For Life is the ultimate team fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society that brings communities together in the fight against cancer. It's an opportunity to come together to remember loved ones lost and honor survivors of all cancers.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary, Relay participants will take turns walking around the track at Spaulding High School for 20 hours at this year's event, which takes place on June 20-21. The Relay for Life includes fun games and activities, food, dancing, music and more.
