ROCHESTER - Judy Atkins Smith, 64, of Rochester, died on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 5, 1952, in Rochester, the daughter of the late Vernon and Vera Atkins.
She was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1970. Judy and her husband Greg built their accounting firm together from the ground up over the past 20 years. She was a longtime member of the Rochester Rotary and was the founder of Rotary Charities which she was very proud of. She was honored as Rotarian of the Year, 2016-2017. She served as their treasurer since its inception.
She was a fun-loving person who many called a spitfire. Judy was never afraid to have a good time or play a funny practical joke. She was a kind and charitable person who would ask an elderly or disabled person in the grocery store if they needed help. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family very much.
Members of her family include her husband of twenty years, Greg, who always considered Judy to be the love of his life and soulmate; her children, Ben and wife Erin Stevens of Newton, N.H.; Chrissy and husband Mark Rapoza of New Durham, N.H.; grandchildren, Bradley and Logan Stevens, Brayden and Kylie Rapoza; her brother, James and wife Leslie Atkins of Moore, S.C.; her niece Kim Belmonte of Gainesville, Florida, and her nephew Matt and wife Marleen Atkins of Mason, Ohio.
Tina Nadeau who has been at Greg and Judy's side throughout the success of their business is considered a member of their family.
