ROCHESTER - The promise of a new school year began today with the opening of the city's Maple Street Magnet School ushering in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Situated in the heart of Rochester, Maple Street Magnet School offers a specialized curriculum designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. As the only magnet school in New Hampshire, it attracts a diverse student body, united by a shared enthusiasm for a unique educational experience.
Principal Sarah Anderson is embarking on her first year leading the school. She expressed her excitement for the new year as students arrived today.
"We are thrilled to welcome our students back to Maple Street Magnet School," she said. "Our staff has worked tirelessly to prepare and we're eager to begin the work of inspiring, supporting, and challenging our students to reach their goals, personally and academically."
Maple Street's former principal, Dr. Erin Mahoney, will lead Rochester's Chamberlain Street Elementary School when it opens its doors on Aug. 26.
Maple Street Magnet School is renowned for its innovative programs that integrate project based learning, boundless exploration, generational connections and family, and community and sustainability, providing a well-rounded education that prepares students for the challenges of the future.
Superintendent Annie Azarloza also expressed excitement about the prospects of the new year.
