A girl's high school basketball game in Massachusetts abruptly ended after a coach watched three of his players get injured by a bearded transgender player on the opposing team, but you never read about that in a recent article published a week ago by a New Hampshire newspaper.
The article's headline? "NH Republicans unite to pass bill targeting transgender student-athletes"
The injured girls were all from the Collegiate Charter School of Lowell. One of them was thrown to the ground like a rag doll where she lay injured till she was helped off the court.
So who's targeting whom?
Title 9, which was fought for by women in the early '70s, seems to have been eroded by this new policy in the college and high school ranks that allows male athletes to play in women's sports and dress in women's locker rooms, no questions asked.
This is about the well-being of our daughters and granddaughters, their safety and fair competition, which is paramount in athletics.
We see biological men playing in women's athletics across the sports spectrum from weight lifting to swimming to golf to basketball, with many biological women missing out on trophies and getting injured.
Not only was the article slanted in its reporting, it was stacked against the Republican senators who voted the bill through.
The reporters used quotes from three who supported the bill and seven who opposed it. That's called stacking the deck, but when you're a social justice reporters, you're not concerned with just stating the facts, you're trying to push the needle.
We hope the reporters and editors who worked on the story never have to see their daughter or granddaughter injured while playing a sport against a biological male, but it appears they're good with that.
I am not.
The February game between the Collegiate Charter School of Lowell and KIPP Massachusetts was forfeited by the coach at halftime, after the remaining five girls left on his squad said they feared they would be injured in the second half and unable to play in the upcoming playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Vatican last Monday declared gender-affirming surgery and surrogacy as grave violations of human dignity, putting them on par with abortion and euthanasia as practices that reject God's plan for human life.
The Vatican's doctrine office issued "Infinite Dignity," a 20-page declaration that has been in the works for five years.
The Vatican repeated its rejection of "gender theory," or the idea that one's gender can be changed. It said God created man and woman as biologically different, separate beings, and said people must not tinker with that plan or try to "make oneself God."
"It follows that any sex-change intervention, as a rule, risks threatening the unique dignity the person has received from the moment of conception," the document said.
And while the reporter gave more than twice the quotes for those who believe biological males should be allowed to play in women's sports and change clothes in women's locker rooms, the vast majority of Americans stand with me, not the social justice warriors.
