SANFORD, Maine - A man was fund dead in a Sanford tent fire on Saturday morning.
Fire crews responded around 10:30 a.m., to the fire in a wooded area near 1 Eagle Drive in Sanford.
Fire officials located the remains of an adult male and contacted the Fire Marshal's Office to investigate and process the scene. The remains were located in a makeshift tent that was destroyed in the blaze..
The remains were transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where an autopsy will be performed to determine positive identification.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
