CONCORD - A Hillsborough County grand jury has returned two indictments against a home improvement contractor charging him with two felony counts of theft by unauthorized taking.

Alexi Ramos, 33, is alleged to have collectively stolen more than $27,000 in relation to two separate home improvement projects, according to a statement from the state AG's office. Rather than using his customers' funds for their projects, Ramos is alleged to have purposely deprived them of their money by spending it on various unauthorized purposes unrelated to the projects.

Ramos is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in Hillsborough Superior Court - Southern District on July 11.

The indictments are merely accusations and Ramos is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
