Harold C. Gardner Sr. ... avid billiards player; at 81

STRAFFORD - Harold C. Gardner Sr., 81, of 1st Crown Pt. Rd., formerly of Hillside Ave., Thompson Conn., died Monday evening, Aug. 21, 2023, at Wentworth-Douglas Hospital in Dover. He was the loving husband of the late Beatrice M. (Forcier) Gardner. Born in Ware, Mass., he was the son of Charles J. Gardner and Katherine Kusek.

Mr. Gardner worked for over 25 years for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Harold was a member of the Club Victoire of Rochester, and member and past president of the TSKK Club in Webster, Mass. He was a passionate fisherman, hunter, and billiards player.

Harold is survived by his children, Harold C. Gardner, Jr. and his wife Cheryle of Chester, Linda A. Sylvester and her husband Brad of Strafford, and James Gardner and his wife Nilda of Norwich, Conn.; his sister, Mary Ann Kozlowski of Quinebaug, Conn.; and his five grandchildren, Shannon, Nicholas, Brooke, Trevor, and Elena. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothea Pekala.
