ROCHESTER - Granite State Choral Society will host its "Perfect Fifth" anniversary singer's workshop on Aug.10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Portsmouth Christian Academy in Dover.
The workshop is open to all interested singers age 14 and older and focuses on learning techniques and skills useful to group singing whether in a small church choir or large community ensemble.
All voice parts will find this a useful day to work on vocal technique, ask questions and learn more about how to achieve the best vocal sound when participating in a choir or small group.
Cost for the workshop is $99 and includes a full day of clinics with highly skilled music professionals, lunch, and all materials.
Additionally, attendees will receive a 10 percent discount on member dues if they decide to join Granite State Choral Society for the 2019-20 season. Students up to age 22 will receive 50 percent off dues with student verification. Students are also eligible to apply for a scholarship to assist with music and concert attire costs next season which begin on Sept. 8. Last day to register is Aug. 5.
Instructors for this workshop include Dr. Daniel Roihl, Andrea Veal, Dr. Jamie Hillman, and Dr. Alex Favazza.
Roihl, is the music director of Granite State Choral Society in Rochester and Nashua Choral Society in Nashua.
In order for the event to provide a more dedicated ratio of instructors to singers, GSCS reserves the right to limit attendee participation if necessary.
