Greenland motorcyclist dies in head-on crash with wrong-way driver

HAMPTON - A Greenland woman died on Saturday night after her motorcycle collided head-on with a pickup truck driving the wrong way on a Route 1 onramp in Hampton.

The crash occurred around 11:50 when police say a 1997 Dodge Dakota truck driven by Keith Rogers, 61, of Voluntown, Conn., was traveling southbound on the northbound ramp to Route 1 north and crashed head-on into a 2007 Kawasaki EX 250 motorcycle driven by Dawn Houston-Fields, 32, of Greenland.

Houston-Fields was rushed to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she later died.

The Route 1 northbound interchange ramp was closed for approximately four hours as troopers investigated the accident.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, [C.A.R] Unit was assisted on scene by members of the New Hampshire State Police - Troop A, the Hampton Police Department, the Hampton Fire and Rescue Department and the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
