DOVER - A Gonic man is facing prison after his indictment in the assault of a 10-year-old in March.
Thomas Scott, 48, of Gonic Road, allegedly hit the youngster in Gonic on March 24, the blow leaving a red mark on their face, according to the indictment.
Scott is charged with second-degree assault, which carries penalties of up to seven years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
The indictments were handed down on June 20 and released on Thursday.
An indictments is not an indication of guilt, and all are presumed innocent until proved guilty.
