DOVER - A Gonic man has pleaded guilty in Strafford Superior Court to a Dover burglary in November of 2023.
Under a plea agreement, Gregory D. Castoras, 34, was sentenced on Thursday to 12 months in county jail, all suspended for five years.
A March 2024 indictment accused Castoras and an accomplice of entering a Dover Point Road residence on Nov. 29, 2023, and stealing a chainsaw. The accomplice in the burglary and theft, Kristi Clement, 34, of Rochester, was found guilty in November 2023 of strangling and torturing her young son over a period of several years.
Clement was released from Strafford County Jail on June 13.
Castoras will remain on probation for three years. His plea deal and suspended sentence is predicated on his admission to the Strafford County drug court and staying on good behavior.
The Rochester Voice was not able to immediately determine whether Clement's burglary charge connected with the chainsaw theft had been dropped or was still pending.
