DOVER - A Gonic man is facing life in prison after his indictment on two counts of trafficking fentanyl and crack cocaine.
Arthur Bougie, 56, of 21 Rudman Driver, is also facing 20-40 years for trafficking methamphetamine and another possible 30 years for possession of amphetamine and cocaine.
All of the charges include enhanced penalties due to his prior convictions on similar charges, according to court documents.
Bougie's arrest followed a traffic stop on Hansonville Road around 1:25 p.m. on March 16, 2021, when an officer noticed an unregistered vehicle being operated on the roadway and then identified the driver as Bougie.
During the traffic stop the officer learned Bougie was operating with an expired license and also found Bougie to be in possession of a quantity of drugs.

The April grand jury indictments were handed down on April 14 and released to the public on Friday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant moving forward to trial.
