ROCHESTER - Rochester Main Street officials are making final preparations throughout downtown Rochester for the city's annual pride celebration on Aug. 24 from noon-3 p.m. The event will take place on North Main Street and in the nearby parking lot.
This year's festival features music from DJ Jodi Entertainment, adult beverages from Margaritas, Drag Queen Story Hour, face painting with Imagination Faces, balloon artists Sages Entertainment and a poetry wall with Rochester's poet laureate.
Main Streets urges eventgoers to bring lawn chairs to relax while enjoying delicious food from Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, Fresh Vibes Café, Sweet Peach's Candy & Confections, Two Wrongs Make a Right Bakery and Wow Factor.
Folks can also visit with dozens of vendors who support the LGBTQ+ community.
The mission of this event is to promote unity, visibility, inclusivity, equality, and a positive image of the LGBTQ+ community.
