ROCHESTER - The City of Rochester announced today there will be a Winter Festival, at the Rochester Common on Jan. 21, starting at 3 p.m.
According to organizers, the festival will be free to eventgoers and will include s'mores, hot cocoa, touch-a-truck and a movie presented by Guyer Travel at 4 p.m.
"We're hoping for clear, cold weather so we can open the outdoor ice rink," said Recreation Director Lauren Krans. "Since the rink is weather dependent, residents should check the rec website on the day of the event to see if it's a go!"
The event is co-sponsored by the Rec Department and the Police Department and is made possible through a collaboration with the Commons Church, which will be providing volunteers and collecting donations for Be the Village Foster Care Program, according to a city press release.
Donations are not required for entry, but if anyone would like to contribute, the most helpful donations are gift cards to Walmart, Market Basket, and Irving, organizers say.
